Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist in BC?

No, a doctor’s referral is not required to see a physiotherapist in most cases. However, if you plan to visit a publicly funded clinic, a referral may be necessary. You can directly consult a physiotherapist for conditions such as chronic pain or to enhance athletic performance.

Does physiotherapy hurt?

Physiotherapy is generally a painless treatment aimed at managing various conditions such as headaches, shoulder pain, and arthritis. However, you might experience mild muscle soreness for a few hours following a session. This is normal and usually subsides quickly.

What happens if I miss my appointment?

We send reminders 48 hours before your scheduled appointment to help you stay on track. You can cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance via email or phone. If you miss an appointment without prior notice, a cancellation fee may apply.
