What This Actually Looks Like

We know that the idea of getting a massage can be a little intimidating if you've never done it before. We promise to keep it simple.

When you come in, the first thing we'll do is talk. We want to hear about what's going on. Is it a specific pain? General stiffness? We'll ask about your work, your hobbies, and what you hope to get out of our time together. This isn't just small talk; it helps us figure out the best way to help you.

Then, we'll give you complete privacy to get settled on the massage table. You can undress to whatever level you're comfortable with (many people keep their underwear on) and you'll always be covered by a sheet. During the session, we'll only uncover the area we're working on.

As your massage therapy specialists in Langley Township, we'll use our hands to carefully assess and address your areas of tension. We might use slower, deeper pressure for chronic knots or lighter, broader strokes to help you relax. The most important thing? This is your time. The pressure is always up to you, and you're always in control.

Who Is This For? (Spoiler: It Might Be For You)

You don't need a major injury to benefit from massage therapy services in Langley Township BC. Most of the people we see are dealing with the totally normal wear and tear of life. You might be:

  • A parentwho feels a constant ache in your lower back from lifting toddlers.
  • An office workerwith stubborn neck and shoulder tension from hours at a computer.
  • Someone who loves staying activebut needs help managing sore muscles after a workout.
  • Just a busy personwhose body feels the physical effects of stress.

In other words, if you have a body and it's ever felt sore, you're a good candidate.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm self-conscious. Do I have to get completely undressed?

Not at all. Your comfort is our number one priority. You can undress to your own comfort level. You will be professionally draped with a sheet at all times during the massage, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

Will my insurance cover this?

Most extended health benefit plans in BC do cover massage therapy when it's provided by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). We are fully registered RMTs. We're happy to direct bill to most insurance companies for you, or provide a detailed receipt for you to submit.

How long is a session?

A standard treatment session is 60 minutes, which is a great amount of time to address your concerns without feeling rushed. We also offer 45-minute sessions for more focused work and 90-minute sessions if you prefer a longer, more comprehensive treatment.

What should I do after my massage?

It's a good idea to drink plenty of water afterward. You might feel wonderfully relaxed, or you might feel some mild muscle tenderness the next day, similar to how you feel after a good workout. This is normal and usually means your body is responding to the work.

How often should I come in?

It really depends on your individual goals. For a new issue, we might suggest coming every week or two initially. For general maintenance and stress management, many of our clients find that visiting every 4-6 weeks helps them stay feeling their best. We'll give you our honest recommendation.

What's your cancellation policy?

We just ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This courtesy allows us to offer that time to another client who may be waiting. We understand that life happens, so we just ask for a heads-up when you can.
